This digital painting started life as a photograph of a November 2007 sunrise seen from my balcony. The ever shifting southern Oregon light created a soft pinkish-orange glow on the clouds. The stark silhouettes of pine trees and bare branches helped break up the space. I used a combination of filters in Photoshop to enhance the image, creating an Impressionistic view that sparkles with a texture that mimics tie-dye or batik. The vivid colors and energized virtual brushwork adds a painterly flourish. This piece would be great for brightening up a quiet area in your home or office.
