Digital painting from photo taken July 30, 2008. I took an only fair picture from the deck. There were parts of it that seemed dull, other parts that held interest and energy. Enter Photoshop and one of my favorite filters, Difference Clouds. Some days I'm drawn to a certain feeling a color conveys. Yesterday evening it was a sense of yellow, how it can feel billowy and inspirational. On the other hand, too much of a good thing can...well, you know...So, instead of color adjusting the master image, I focused only on the yellow until just the right saturation came through. I also played with the Stained Glass filter, and many others. The end result is a kind of celebration of light and sparkle as it contrasts with flat dark form just this side of silhouettes.
